读英语书的读后感篇2

as jane eyre,in her plainness and solitude, walks to and fro in the thornfield hall, her unfortunate childhood, conflicting love, and religious forbiddance all cannot stop her seeking a better life and cherishing the human nature. she broke loose the chains that jailed her spirit, and through her struggles she overcame the poverty, customs, social standards, and piety which all blocked her from her dream of happiness, and finally became the master of herself! it could be said that janes life was earned through retaliation and pursuit, that she fought tooth and nail until the sunlight was won. the sunlight now in her palm, shines brightly unto her!

in fact, one has endless thoughts for the most effulgent sunbeam that shines after the storm. i always think in a difficult situation,if and when the hardships of this life is done,if and when the road of time no longer curves,if and when i try my best to walk to the end, will i be able to see the blinding sunlight? for the most important meaning in life is that, struggling through your trials you realize the value of your life, while taking away all the bitter misfortunes. only then will we see the true radiance of the golden sun…

--thoughts given by sherlock holmes and the duke's son

written in the first chapter of the book pride and prejudice is an extraordinary sentence of which even a person who has had only a brief look upon the book will not fail to receive a deep impression-it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.in terms of sherlock holmes,we'd better alter the sentence into"it is a fact universally accepted by readers throughout the world that an excellent book in possession of our famous detective sherlock holmes is undoubtedly a masterpiece of all times."perhaps this is one of the most obvious explanations for the unrivaled popularity of"holmes series"in the field of detective stories.overwhelmed by the recommendations provided by my friends,i decided to take a look on this sherlock holmes and the duke's son originally published by oxford university press.

as a whole, this book is about a case concerning the duke's missing son.arthur, the duke's son,was found out in a certain morning to have disappeared, accompanied with which was also the disappearance of the german teacher.the school master dr.huxtable then turned to the famous detective of the time sherlock holmes for help.realizing how tough and important the case is,holmes immediately made up his mind to accept the case and followed dr.huxtable back to mackleton by train.having formed a rough idea about the whole matter, holmes probed into the case immediately and had a careful investigation of the entire area shortly after the arrival, during the proceof which he discovered the body of the german teacher heidegger.finally, primarily due to his prominent ability as a detective,he managed to unravel the mystery and obtained the twelve thousand pounds promised by the duke.

having once started reading this fiction,i was completely immersed in the mysterious stor.

读英语书的读后感篇4

in the summer vacation, i read a book which is called “the christmas carol”. it is written by charles dickens, a famous english writer.

the story is about ebenezer scrooge, a miser. scrooge always said about christmas, “bah, humbug”. he also didn’t like spending money and giving money away even more. marley used to be the partners with scrooge. unfortunately, he died 7 years ago. one day, maley’s ghost came to his home and told scrooge three christmas ghost would come to his home. firstly, ghost of christmas past came. he showed scrooge how he became a miser from a happy boy. then, ghost of christmas present came. he showed his employee and his nephew’s happy lives. finally, ghost of christmas future came. he took scrooge to his grave in his future and showed him his lonely death is the result of his mean and miserly life. in the next morning, scrooge understood. he changed his living way and became generous. he donated money to the charity organization.

i think it is a good story. it tells us to be generous and help other people more. to be miserly and mean only do harm to other people and ourselves. helping others is a very good virtue. it makes you feel good, make others feel warm and make others remember you. as so many advantages, why you don’t do this?

读英语书的读后感篇7

in little women, you will meet the march sisters, meg, jo, beth & amy who live with their mother, marmee, and their maid hannah, during the civil war. the first half of the novel takes place while their father is away, serving in the war. each sister has a distinct personality, a reader, an artist, a musician, the quiet one. you will get to know this family in touching little stories of their daily life. each chapter seems to set up a moral lesson for the reader to learn. we also meet a wonderful set of neighbors, mr. laurence and his nephew "laurie" who quickly find a place as part of the march family.

the second half of the novel, focuses on the girls as they leave their childhood and begin their journey into adult life. lessons of friendship, family, and love are covered as we join the characters through the ups and downs of life, good times and bad. it seems that louisa may alcott used her own family as the basis for the stories in little women, basing the character jo on herself. it is amazing how though the book was written in the late 1800s, so many things about humans remain the same. the foundations of life that are important in friendships, family & love dont change through time, as alcott has shared with us. this is a book that young and old can read and appreciate.
